With President Obama's State of the union address we can expect some more work on building efficiency programs.  This should mean good news for energy modelers.  Hopefully this will keep the momentum going in this field.  California, as usual, is leading the way forward with potential new code changes for Title 24.  EnergyPlus will become the baseline for other T24 qualifying calculations.  Other energy codes will attempt to qualify for T24 in 2014.

Invitation to Review Proposals to Advance Energy Efficiency in Small Commercial Buildings

In support of the Obama Administration’s Better Buildings Initiative, the Building Technologies Office (BTO) has announced the availability of up to $12 million dollars to support new integrated solutions for delivering energy efficiency in small commercial buildings measuring 50,000 sq. ft. or smaller. There are 4.6 million small buildings across the nation, comprising over 90% of the commercial building stock. This represents an immense opportunity to advance energy efficiency.
